New little chicks just in time for spring

I love having new baby chicks. Put them in a large bird cage my brother James gave me. They stay there about 2 weeks Then out to the chicken house. Hoping I have more hens than roosters. Though the roosters make fine dining.

Attempt at French macaroons

The color is electric green, needs to be a deeper green. The feet are okay but over mixed them. Found an awesome website "howtocook.net",that shows a picture of under mixed, right and over mixed. Should have followed the pictures. The neighbor children are enjoying the learning process. The filling is a chocolate buttercream. It is a milk chocolate, husband ate all the bittersweet chocolate so trip to the store is in order. Will hopefully have perfect macaroons to post Today.

Poppy season is here

Planted poppies this year and ecstatic that they are up and booming. God is blessing us with rain and a little warm weather. Time for the iris and amarillos to begin blooming in a few weeks.

Banana cake with peanut butter frosting and chocolate guanche.

This is moist with a beautiful crumb and amazing flavor. The peanut butter buttercream is smooth with a silky feel that melts in the mouth. The bittersweet chocolate is a nice counterpart to the sweetness of the frosting and who does not like a chocolate covered banana.

Yum,,,, time to eat

This was so easy to make. The crust was crisp with a beautiful soft inside. Dipped in butter with rosemary and garlic.

My first posting

This is the bread in the oven rising with warm water. Loved this idea since it keeps things moist and rising.
